I'm running for Selectman in the April 12 town election to fill Paul Schmid’s one-year unexpired term. I ask for your vote, for your neighbors’ vote and for your help.
Why am I running?
More than ever our town needs experienced, thoughtful, and impartial leadership. The challenges we face, particularly with our budget, are serious, but they are not insurmountable. I can help our community meet those challenges.
The Board of Selectmen is the chief executive of the Town; the Board provides the leadership and sets the policy for the best interest of the Town as a whole. I am a committed team player and eager to bring my skills to the Board to help create a responsive, lean, fiscally smart local government. I will engage and listen to the people of Westport to find solutions that are not always easy. I am fair, independent and have demonstrated success in negotiating and reaching agreement on complicated issues.
I’m proud of Westport and what it has to offer. We want a town that is safe, that works, and is respectful of employees and volunteers. Working on town boards and committees, I appreciate what it takes to run this town.
After growing up in Fall River, and living here for 24 years, Westport is my home. I ask for your volunteer help between now and Election Day to give me the opportunity to keep working for Westport. If you can make a donation, help spread the word, or put a lawn sign in your yard, that will make a difference. Anything you can do is appreciated. Don’t forget to vote on or before April 12, 2011.
Thank you for your support!
